We had another busy and good meeting. Our team members continued Sessions 8 and 9 of the Engineering Notebook. These sessions were emphasizing Core Values of Fun and Team work. We reviewed all six Core Values again, especially Core Values Fun and Team Work. The LEGO Education Spike Essentials that we use comes with a Hub (brain of the system) that only has two ports. We have four devices (two motors, one light, and one sensor). This means we are not able to connect more than two devices. The first task for our team members was to go back and see if there is a way for the submarine to use only one wheel (motor) by using only one port so we can connect a sensor or light to the other port. They tried but unfortunately it didn’t work. We will have them to try again in the next couple of meetings. The team members were then divided into two sub-teams. One team to work on setting up the mat to follow the story/model that they came up with a couple of weeks ago. The second sub-team members were programmers to start working on programming the model.
As usual, they did a great job and more importantly, they had fun.
The following videos show photos and teams setting up their mats and programming their submarines.
